Great place, you’ll have some chores though. Positive: Modern decor inside, bathtub out back in a secluded setting surrounded by foliage. It was very peaceful and tranquil nights/mornings with sounds from creatures in the surrounding rainforest. Negative: Expect some DIY, there are no instructions from the host on how appliances function (e.g. they asked us to run/empty the dehumidifier but no instructions how). The fire pit igniter didn’t function, so in a drawer found a lighter, which also didn’t work, but created enough spark to light the fire. One of the back door handles fell off so we just didn’t use that door. Upon arrival a smoke detector was dangling with no battery and beeping incessantly. Since there was no ladder available to reach it, we contacted the host, who was responsive and tried to get someone to come out, but no one ever came so we had to construct a makeshift ladder by putting a barstool on the bed to reach it.

nice location to the volcano national park. Acrylic in the linens and towels is not comfortable Positive: The condo was technically well equiped. It had all you needed, even the beds had an electric heating as it can get cold up there. Negative: I did not like the acrylic linens and towels

Perfect for the type of trip we planned ... visiting Volcano Park and surrounding areas! Positive: Quaint place !!! Location was just perfect for visiting Volcano Park , Kona , and Black sand beach ! Also before arrived , the owner gave us great information on what to expect weather wise for packing , where to buy groceries etc if needed . We would stay there again ... it met our needs ! Negative: Maybe a grill would be nice .

Fantastic stay in the rainforest Positive: The host provided very thorough check-in instructions and set expectations for what we could expect. The furniture was very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked better than expected (but know that you'll need to bring groceries from Hilo, as there are no markets up there), including all the tools we needed plus things like oil, salt, spices, even some other foods like oatmeal. The outdoor space was better than it looked in the pictures, and we enjoyed a fantastic soak while listening to birds and frogs. It's only 10 minutes from the National Park, and about 35 minutes from Hilo. Negative: We loved everything! Note that the bed is a queen-sized bed, so if you're used to something large then you might find it a bit cozy.
